Wrapping up the ATSSA 2023 Traffic Expo in Phoenix, AZ
The 2023 American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Traffic Expo has come and gone quickly. As the dust settles on another great event, we look back at some of the highlights of our week. Thank You to Phoenix for being a great host.
We kicked off our week by sponsoring and participating in THE FOUNDATION Golf Outing. The Foundation’s exists to bring awareness to roadway safety and fallen workers, and to ensure they are not forgotten and their families are supported. The events of The Foundation help raise these much needed funds. We believe in the goal of Vision Zero. Please visit https://foundation.atssa.com/ to learn how you can help The Foundation reach their goals.
NEW PRODUCTS
The ATSSA 2023 Traffic Expo kicked off on Sunday with a very exciting new product launch. We introduced SmartPOD to the industry for the first time. The SmartPOD is our second crash cushion in our product portfolio and aims to be a player in the cartridge based crash cushion market. The SmartPOD was well received by the guests in attendance and many questions were asked and answered by our customers and sales team. You can learn more about the SmartPOD by checking out our product launch article. Additionally, we also introduced an upgraded controller for our message boards. CPU 7m was launched and will be a great enhancement to our message board line. A large touch screen provides a very easy to use platform that end users will enjoy.
CONNECTING WITH THE INDUSTRY
Monday we had the opportunity to speak with Congressman Greg Stanton (AZ) and former Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Bill Shuster. It was our honor to meet them both and a great opportunity for us to share our purpose and showcase our products. Their commitment to safety is greatly appreciated.
AWARD WINNING PRODUCTS
Capping off the great week, Hill & Smith took home our very first award, Honorable Mention in the New Product Rollout. Tyler Helvey presented the SensorZone Proximity Warning System to the NPRO ATSSA Committee and it was met with a great response. While we didn’t take first place, we feel SensorZone has arrived and will hopefully be top of mind for safety engineers who want to take a proactive approach to protecting their work zone from vehicle/worker incursions. Congratulations to Tyler and the SensorZone Proximity Warning System for a great showing at ATSSA.
We look forward to seeing everyone in San Diego next year. Travel Safe. Work Protected.
